Blentech Clean-in-Place (CIP) Solutions

Cleanability is critical in food processing. At Blentech, we design equipment that makes sanitation faster, more consistent, and easier to validate. Cleaning is not just a maintenance task — it directly affects your uptime, audit performance, and product safety. Our systems turn sanitation into a predictable, repeatable process so your facility is ready for inspection every day.

Understanding the "Clean Assist" Foundation

Our standard equipment design incorporates a "clean assist" package, featuring a rotating spray ball system designed to effectively clean the majority of the system.

This involves strategically placed spray balls delivering cleaning solutions to accessible product contact areas. This balanced approach provides a cost-effective solution meeting industry standards without capital expenses for a fully automated system.

The Science of Soil Removal

To ensure the vessel is technically "dry" and free of microbial growth, our systems utilize two primary mechanical and chemical principles:

Impingement Cleaning

Relies on the mechanical force of cleaning solutions delivered with significant velocity and impact. This kinetic energy physically breaks the adhesive bonds between tenacious residues and the equipment surface.

Wetting Cleaning

Utilizes chemical action to penetrate, dissolve, and emulsify soil. Surfactants reduce surface tension, allowing the solution to penetrate microscopic pores and irregularities in the equipment surface.

Overcoming Manual Cleaning Challenges

While "clean assist" handles the primary cleaning tasks, certain components typically require manual attention. We offer specific engineering upgrades to move toward full automation and eliminate manual "touch-up."

1

Shaft Seals:
Eliminating the Achilles' Heel

In a standard configuration, shaft seals require a daily manual check where the outer housing is removed to wipe down the shaft and seals before reassembly.

  • The Standard: ~30 minutes for four seals (manual disassembly).
  • The Upgrade: CIPable Seal. An endplate-mounted seal that can be cleaned in place without disassembly using attached cleaning fluid lines.

The Technology: Proprietary DiscSealâ„¢ technology is available for mechanical face sealing, eliminating the deep crevices associated with traditional packing glands.

2

Cover Gaskets:
Preventing Ingredient Accumulation

Standard gaskets seal against a flat top lip. During loading, ingredients may collect on this surface, requiring manual wiping.

  • The Challenge: Wiping the seal surface manually can take up to 30 minutes.
  • The Upgrade: Widened Gasket & Custom Hatches. We modify the cover assembly to utilize a gasket that extends over the top surface. Ingredients are introduced through access hatches, avoiding buildup on the edge and reducing cleaning requirements by ~95%.

3

Discharge Doors:
Contained Cleaning Environments

Standard discharge doors are typically manually wiped or washed down while in the open position.

The Upgrade: Removable Cleaning Hopper. A "plug-and-play" system with built-in sprayballs that replaces the discharge guard. It captures cleaning solutions and residue, preventing spills and cleaning the exterior surface of the door automatically.

Targeted ROI and Efficiency Summary

We offer these enhancements so you can choose the level of automation that aligns with your operational needs and budgetary considerations.

Technical Insight: U-Shaped Vessel Geometry

The foundation of Blentech cleanability is our U-shaped mixer body design. To maximize hygiene, we radius and inspect every corner, eliminating sharp crevices. This geometry facilitates full drainability, ensuring that gravity acts uniformly to funnel liquid and debris toward the discharge point, mitigating the risk of biofilm formation in stagnant pools.
